HTC One Max 2014 vs Samsung Galaxy Noted Edge: Which is the Better Holiday-Season Phablet?
2015 is a highly anticipated year of the tech-buffs and even for the tech-consumers. It is because next year will be a season of grand showdown between the tech-giants as they launch each of their top caliber smartphones, phablets and tablets.
But before the year ends, HTC and Samsung have something in store for their customers. HTC may have partnered with Google in creating the set to be released Nexus 9 while Samsung has just released it Galaxy Note 4, but the two Asian companies have a holiday treat for their avid consumers.
The Taiwan-based tech-company is set to release its One Max 2014 while the Korea-based Samsung has its Galaxy Noted Edge underway. So before these two high quality smartphones hit the market, here is the comparison of the HTC One Max and the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge as reported by Ordoh and The Fuse Joplin.
The two smartphones have large screens, thus they are also both phablets. Technically, phablet or portmanteau of phone and tablet, is the term used for smartphones with more than 5 inches screen. One Max 2014 will have a 5.5-inch screen with 1440 x 2560 display while Note Edge will have a relatively bigger QHD display at 5.6-inch also with 1440 x 2560 resolution.
In terms of processor, HTC One Max 2014 and Samsung Galaxy Note Edge are said to have the same Quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor. Both phablets will also have 3GB RAM and 32GB and 64GB variants of internal memory that can be expanded up to 128GB.
One Max 2014, on the other hand, is superior in terms of camera. The HTC’s upcoming phablet will have 18MP snapper with optical image stabilization while Samsung Galaxy note Edge is tipped to have 16MP camera with the same stabilization feature. Both phablets are also powered with around 3000 mAh battery.
When it comes to operating system, HTC One Max 2014 is set to have the latest Android Lollipop 5.0. This is the reason why it is tipped for a November release. Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, on the other hand, is equipped with Android Jelly Bean 4.4 version but soon it will be available for OS update.
In terms of price, Note Edge is set at $800 while the 2014 version of One Max is rumored to have higher price compared to its predecessor which sells at $500.
