"Glen Campbell ... I'll Be Me" is Set to Air on CNN.
"Glen Campbell ... I'll Be Me" is set to air on CNN. Though no exact date has been set, the film is set to debut on CNN in June, with an encore presentation scheduled for November.
"Glen Campbell ... I'll Be Me" is a documentary movie that chronicles the country music crooner's struggle with Alzheimer's disease and his final tour, and features stories from fellow country artists and celebrities like Blake Shelton, Sheryl Crow, Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, Taylor Swift, Vince Gill, Steve Martin, Bruce Springsteen, Bill Clinton, the Edge from U2, Paul McCartney, Jimmy Webb and Jay Leno.
"Glen Campbell ... I'll Be Me" also features the Oscar-nominated and Grammy-winning song "I'm Not Gonna Miss You." Campbell released a tear-wrenching music video for the tune in October. Recently, the song "I'm Not Gonna Miss You" was nominated for an Oscar.
However, Campbell because of his Alzheimer's wasn't aware of the nomination at all. His wife Kim Campbell said on the red carpet before the ceremony that her husband wouldn't really understand what was happening. She said: 'I'm not sure if he's really aware but he will be at his own little Oscar party tonight. It would be lovely to go back and let him hold one. It's just hard for him to understand.'
"We look forward to having the Campbell's brave story - unfortunately familiar to too many American families - on CNN," says the documentary's producer Trevor Albert. "This partnership will guarantee that millions of people will have the opportunity to see our movie and understand just how important it is to both raise awareness - and find an end - to Alzheimer's disease."
