Amy Grant's "Tennessee Christmas" is the Best Selling Christian Album; Watch Grant's New Video Here

Amy Grant

Six-time GRAMMY® Award winner Amy Grant's newly released Tennessee Christmas is the #1 best selling Christian album in the US this week. This is the third week Amy Grant's Tennessee Christmas is at #1. Grant's record 17th leader on the list rules with 17,000 sold (up 37 percent).

Moreover, Grant has just released a new single and video from the set.  The "To Be Together" music video was inspired by Amy's daughter Sarah's terrible automobile accident. "During those tough hours in the emergency room and the days that followed in the hospital, that chorus cycled through my brain on repeat. 'Coming home just the way you are, knowing this is all that really matters, to be together'... it was so comforting to me."

The multi-platinum singer/songwriter's first all new holiday album in nearly 20 years, Tennessee Christmas captures the joy, laughter, anticipation and even melancholy the Christmas season brings in its 13 tracks. A perfect blend of familiar carols, hymns, raucous Santa songs and thoughtful new originals, there is something on this project for every listener. In addition to a new version of Grant's classic "Tennessee Christmas," the record begins with the fresh and uplifting anthem "To Be Together," calling to mind the nostalgia of holidays spent in the company of family and friends.

Grant also intentionally included songs on this record that accurately portray the feelings of sadness and grief that so often accompany the holidays for many of us. With offerings like "December," "Another Merry Christmas" and "Melancholy Christmas," her hope is that those who are struggling will find a sense of peace by realizing that they are not alone. "Melancholy Christmas," which Grant co-wrote with Marshall Altman, has already stirred up social responses from fans finding solace in the relatable and vulnerable lyrics.

Early critics are hailing Tennessee Christmas "amongst her finest work" (CCM),  "definitely a strong contender for 'Best Christmas Album for 2016'" (Hallels) and a "set (that) will no doubt add to that impressive résumé!'" (SoundsLikeNashville).
