CCM Group Selah Shares Heartfelt Message with 'Lord, I Trust You' Video After Las Vegas Shooting
Christian contemporary music group Selah posted a message and a new clip of their single, “Lord, I Trust You,” following the shooting incident in Las Vegas on Sunday.
"There is no way to explain the evil that we have witnessed this week," Selah shared on Facebook as the band dropped their new video. "Our hearts are so heavy for those who have been crushed and broken."
"Their lives will never be the same. Even though sometimes we can't understand the why, we hold on to the hope that God is still with us, with Las Vegas and to trust in Him to provide healing,” the Nashville, Tennessee natives said.
The award-winning group shared their heartfelt message after suspected gunman Stephen Paddock opened fire from the 32nd floor of Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay Hotel. Targeting a concert festival held outdoors on Sunday night, the shooting incident killed at least 59 individuals and caused injuries for more than 500 people. The Las Vegas mass shooting incident has now been deemed the deadliest of its kind in recent American times.
Country music artist Jason Aldean had only finished performing five songs at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Vegas when his set was interrupted by the shooting. Concertgoers heard loud sounds which they thought were “fireworks,” but immediately realized that it had been rapid gunfire.
Upon sharing their words of support, Selah also posted a video for their single, "Lord, I Trust You," taken from their ninth album, titled Unbreakable.
"It may not seem I have will it will take/I fear that in the face of trial I'll break/Any troubles just a day away/Lord, I trust you/The best, the worst of day is yet to come/The glorify regardless of the cost/The magnify where the joy allows/Lord, I trust you/Lord, you are life and sacrifier," the song’s lyrics state.
