Justin Bieber Releases Apology In Light of Racist Joke Video Going Public
Pop singer Justin Bieber has had a rough year with his private life and just when you think he is in the clear, another situation arises.
A video surfaced of Bieber telling a racist joke to some friends when he was 15-years-old. Justin is now 20, so clearly this was a long time ago, but still is not never a good thing to have come public.
To his credit, he came out quickly to give a public apology and share his feelings on the video going public.
"As a young man, I didn't understand the power of certain words and how they can hurt," Justin posted to his fans on Twitter.
Justin went on to say, "I thought it was ok to repeat hurtful words and jokes, but didn't realize at the time that it wasn't funny and that in fact my actions were continuing the ignorance. I take my friendships with people of all cultures very seriously and I apologize for offending or hurting anyone with my childish and inexcusable mistake. I was a kid then and I am a man now who knows my responsibility to the world and to not make that mistake again.
Just Bieber released his latest full length album HEARTBREAKER in December 2013 are songs that are said to be more 'personal' to Justin.
He also had a his second documentary movie released on Christmas Day 2013 titled Believe. The movie follows the pop singer on his Believe tour and gives you behind the scenes footage and interviews to give a new perspective into Bieber's life. Box office sales for the new movie were disappointing compared to his first movie, Never Say Never.
