Crossroads Wins Three Absolutely Gospel Awards
Crossroads brought home three top awards from this year's Absolutely Gospel Music Awards, once again proving itself as a market leader in the Southern Gospel genre. The Jordan Family Band won Breakthrough Artist of the Year, The Kingdom Heirs won Best Traditional Song with "The Last Big Thing" and Jeff Collins won Producer of the Year at the annual awards ceremony April 10 at Nashville First Church of the Nazarene in Nashville, Tennessee. The Jordan Family Band was honored to win the award. "Only in our dreams have we seen our little family standing on stage with some of the greats in Gospel music, let alone winning an award after being nominated with so many other wonderful artists!" the band says. "It's true what the Bible says, 'But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.'" The Kingdom Heirs are delighted a song they love is also loved by others. "We love the encouraging message of the song and we're excited and honored that so many others are loving it too," says Arthur Rice of The Kingdom Heirs. "Thanks to Absolutely Gospel Music and the fans for your support of The Kingdom Heirs and the music we love." "The Last Big Thing" was written by Rebecca J. Peck and Dianne Wilkinson. Formed over 20 years ago, Absolutely Gospel serves as a hub for everything Gospel, including news and reviews of every facet of the genre. The site was started by Deon & Susan Unthank as SoGospelNews.com and quickly became one of the most viewed Gospel websites. The name was changed to Absolutely Gospel in 2010.
