The track is a new recording of the outfit's classic 2001 breakthrough smash, "Praise Is What I Do," that helped usher the praise and worship music movement into the black church community. The new rendition was conceived by Pastor Ray Bady, a veteran session drummer and new pastor of Shekinah Glory Ministry's home church, Valley Kingdom Ministries, International). With the guiding musical wand of producer, Thaddeus Johnson, the new incarnation boasts a quicker tempo, a Trap drum loop, and La'Quentin Jenkins who brings the same level of vocal passion to the new rendition that William Murphy brought to the original.
For over two decades, Shekinah Glory Ministry has been hailed as urban worship music pioneers with five R.I.A.A. gold and platinum certifications for projects featuring signature songs such as "Praise is What I Do," "Before the Throne," "Jesus," and "Yes." Their album Jesus won the Stellar Award for Best Praise and Worship Album in 2008 and they won Contemporary Group of the Year in 2012.
The group has performed on The Stellar Awards, BET's Bobby Jones Gospel, and WGN TV. The group's inspiring and sometimes challenging story is told in the forthcoming documentary mini-series, Beyond the Praise.
