The Beach Boys are opening the vault to one of the most intriguing chapters in their long career. The legendary band has announced a new box set that will officially release Adult/Child, a long-shelved album recorded in the late 1970s but never fully issued at the time.

Titled We Gotta Groove: The Brother Studio Years, the collection is scheduled to arrive on February 13, 2026. It focuses on a creative period when founding member Brian Wilson returned to more active studio work, exploring playful arrangements and unconventional songwriting.

The box set includes newly restored recordings from the Adult/Child sessions, along with alternate versions, demos, and outtakes that reflect the band's experimental spirit during that era. Fans have long circulated bootleg versions of the album, but this marks its first official release in a complete and carefully curated form.

In addition to Adult/Child, the set also features material connected to The Beach Boys Love You and other recordings from the group's Brother Studios years. The collection is designed to offer listeners a clearer picture of where the band stood creatively during the mid-to-late 1970s.

Packaged with liner notes, rare photos, and historical context, We Gotta Groove provides both longtime fans and newer listeners a fresh way to experience music that once lived in the shadows of The Beach Boys' catalog.

More than a nostalgia release, the project highlights the band's willingness to experiment, even during uncertain times and preserves a unique moment in their enduring musical legacy.
