In a harrowing and faith-filled public appeal, Savannah Guthrie has spoken directly to those believed to be holding her mother, Nancy Guthrie, confirming that the family has received a message and is prepared to meet the demand for her safe return - while also calling on the nation to pray.
Standing alongside her siblings in a newly released video, Guthrie delivered a message marked by urgency, resolve, and hope grounded in faith.
"We have received your message. We understand," Guthrie said. "We will pay. And we are praying - praying for mercy, praying for compassion, and praying for my mother to come home alive."
FROM FEAR TO FAITH IN A NATIONAL CRISIS
Nancy Guthrie, 84, was last seen on January 31, 2026, at her home in the Catalina Foothills area of Tucson, Arizona. What began as a welfare check quickly escalated into a suspected kidnapping after investigators discovered blood matching her DNA inside the residence and evidence suggesting intentional tampering with security systems.
Authorities have stated the circumstances strongly indicate she was taken against her will.
FEDERAL INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY
The FBI, working in coordination with the Pima County Sheriff's Department, is leading the investigation. While multiple ransom-related communications have circulated - including at least one involving cryptocurrency - law enforcement has not publicly verified the legitimacy of all messages and continues to pursue every credible lead.
A $50,000 reward has been authorized by the FBI for information leading to Nancy Guthrie's safe recovery or the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
No suspects or persons of interest have been publicly identified.
A RACE AGAINST TIME - AND A CALL TO GOD
Family members have emphasized that Nancy Guthrie has serious health conditions and requires daily medication, intensifying fears for her wellbeing. With no confirmed proof of life released publicly, the family says prayer has become as vital as the investigation itself.
"We believe in the power of prayer," the family shared. "We are asking people everywhere - churches, communities, anyone with a heart - to pray for Nancy's protection, for her captors to do the right thing, and for her safe return."
PUBLIC APPEAL FOR INFORMATION AND PRAYER
Savannah Guthrie is urging anyone with information, no matter how small, to contact authorities immediately - and is also asking the public to stand with the family in prayer.
