Blake Lively's highly publicized legal battle with It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni has taken a significant turn, as a federal judge has dismissed the majority of her claims-reshaping the direction of the case just weeks before trial.
According to multiple reports, U.S. District Judge Lewis J. Liman threw out 10 of Lively's 13 claims, including allegations of sexual harassment, defamation, and conspiracy. The ruling narrows the lawsuit considerably, though it does not end it entirely. A smaller set of claims-primarily related to retaliation and breach of contract-will still move forward in court.
The case, which began in late 2024, has drawn widespread attention across Hollywood and beyond. Lively accused Baldoni and others of misconduct on set and alleged a coordinated effort to damage her reputation. Baldoni has consistently denied the accusations, maintaining that the dispute stemmed from creative differences rather than unlawful behavior.
While many of Lively's claims were dismissed on legal and jurisdictional grounds, the judge noted that some aspects of the case-particularly those tied to retaliation-deserve closer examination. As a result, the trial is still scheduled to begin on May 18, setting the stage for what could be a closely watched courtroom battle.
The situation has sparked ongoing conversations about accountability, workplace boundaries, and the complexity of high-profile disputes in the entertainment industry. For many observers, it also raises deeper reflections on truth, justice, and the importance of handling conflict with integrity-values that resonate strongly within faith-centered communities.
As the case moves forward, both sides are expected to present sharply different narratives, leaving the final outcome uncertain. For now, one thing is clear: what once seemed like a sweeping lawsuit has now become a much more focused legal fight.
