Jenn Johnson, a key voice behind the global worship movement Bethel Music, is set to release her deeply personal new single, "Mad at God," this Friday, April 10.
As co-founder of Bethel Music alongside her husband Brian Johnson, Jenn Johnson has helped shape the sound of modern worship worldwide through songs that emphasize intimacy with God and Spirit-led expression. Her ministry, rooted in Bethel Church in Redding, California, has influenced churches across denominations, with a catalogue that includes widely sung worship anthems.
With "Mad at God," Johnson offers one of her most vulnerable releases to date, drawing from a season marked by grief, loss, and unanswered questions.
"This song came from a really raw place in a time marked by loss and a lot of questions we didn't have answers to," Johnson shared. "It's honest, it's vulnerable, and it's a song for anyone hurting."
Known for creating space in worship for both celebration and surrender, Johnson leans into lament in this new track-addressing the tension between faith and pain while ultimately pointing listeners toward trust in God.
"It's a song for anyone hurting, that ends in an invitation to surrender it all," she added.
"Mad at God" continues Bethel Music's tradition of releasing songs that resonate with real-life experiences of faith, offering language for both joy and struggle within the worship journey.
The single will be available on all major streaming platforms on April 10.
