Chris Pratt is not slowing down when it comes to his faith - and his followers keep showing up for it.
The Guardians of the Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy Movie star has continued to use his Instagram platform this week to point his 44 million followers toward Scripture, reinforcing a message he has carried publicly for years: that casting anxiety on God is not a cliche - it is a practice.
It is the kind of content that has become a signature for Pratt. Whether posting a prayer video, reading a Bible verse to his camera, or sharing a caption that opens with a psalm, the actor has made his faith a consistent and visible part of his public life - even when it has drawn criticism.
He has been clear about why. "Conventional wisdom in this business would say just don't talk politics and don't talk religion," Pratt told Relevant Magazine. "I definitely feel that way about politics. I'm not passionate about politics enough to alienate a number of my fans who may disagree about one thing or another. But I am that passionate about my faith."
That conviction has shown up consistently. In one widely shared video, Pratt posted a prayer captioned "Be Still," closing his eyes and quoting Psalm 46:10 while praying for a calm mind and a quiet heart - then encouraged viewers to put their phones down and go outside.
His partnership with the Hallow prayer app has extended that reach further. In videos made for the app, Pratt has read scripture aloud - including Joshua 1:9 - while telling followers, "Stop scrolling. You and I are going to read a couple verses of Scripture together real quick."
The backlash has never stopped him. When asked about criticism, Pratt has said he simply leans on Proverbs 26:20 and prays for his critics, choosing not to engage in online arguments. His response to the noise has remained the same: turn back to God.
"This platform was given to me for a reason," he has said. "I want to affirm the people who are believers in Christ. I want them to hear me and say, 'Wow, that's cool.'"
For Pratt, none of this is performance. His faith became personal in 2012 when his son Jack was born seven weeks premature. "He really saved my son," Pratt has said of God. "My heart softened, and my faith hardened. That was the moment I was like, 'Moving forward, I'm going to give my platform to God.'"
He has kept that promise.
