Joni Lamb, the co-founder and president of Daystar Television Network, has died at the age of 65. Her passing was confirmed by the ministry on Thursday, May 7, following a period of private health challenges that were recently worsened by a serious back injury.

"With heavy hearts, we share the news that Joni Lamb graduated to Heaven this morning," Daystar said in a statement released across its platforms. The ministry described Lamb as a fearless and compassionate leader whose life and ministry impacted millions around the world.

According to Daystar, Lamb had been privately battling serious health complications prior to suffering a significant back injury, which led to a more severe medical situation than expected. Despite extensive medical care and global prayers from supporters, her condition deteriorated in recent days.

Lamb co-founded Daystar Television Network alongside her late husband, Marcus Lamb, in the late 1990s, helping build what would become one of the world's largest Christian television networks. As president and executive producer, she oversaw a ministry that reached more than two billion homes globally through satellite, cable, streaming, and digital broadcasting.

For decades, Lamb remained one of the most recognizable faces in Christian media. She hosted flagship programs including Joni Table Talk, a multi-Emmy Award-winning talk show addressing faith and contemporary cultural issues, as well as Ministry Now, where she regularly interviewed pastors, authors, musicians, and ministry leaders. Beyond broadcasting, she was also known for her musical contributions with the Daystar Singers and Band.

Lamb's ministry journey was deeply intertwined with her personal life. She married Marcus Lamb in 1982, and together they built Daystar into a global ministry platform before Marcus passed away in 2021 following complications from COVID-19. In June 2023, she remarried psychologist and author Dr. Doug Weiss, who later joined her frequently on Daystar programming.

She is survived by her three children - Jonathan, Rachel, and Rebecca - along with several grandchildren. In recent years, the ministry also faced public leadership tensions, including the highly publicized departure of her son Jonathan from the network in late 2024.

Daystar's board honored Lamb's enduring spiritual legacy, praising her bold faith and unwavering commitment to sharing the Gospel worldwide. The network added that while her loss is deeply felt, they remain committed to continuing the mission she helped establish nearly three decades ago.
