Bishop Paul S. Morton has officially been named as one of the 2026 inductees into the Black Music & Entertainment Walk of Fame, becoming the only representative from the gospel music industry selected for this year's prestigious class.

The 2026 Black Music and Entertainment Walk of Fame Induction Ceremony is scheduled to take place on Monday, June 1, 2026, in historic downtown Atlanta, where Morton will be honored alongside a distinguished group of influential artists, executives, and cultural trailblazers whose contributions have helped shape Black music and entertainment.

Joining Morton in the 2026 induction class are former Atlanta mayor The Honorable Maynard H. Jackson, Nigerian global music superstar Davido, rapper and actor Ludacris, legendary production team Organized Noize, and pioneering music industry figure Jack the Rapper.

The recognition marks another major milestone in Morton's decades-long impact on gospel music, ministry, and worship culture. Known for his unmistakable voice, powerful songwriting, and influential leadership within the Church, Morton has remained one of the defining figures in contemporary gospel music for generations.

As founder of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship and a celebrated recording artist, Morton helped shape the sound of modern praise and worship through songs that became staples in churches worldwide. His influence spans both traditional and contemporary gospel, bridging generations through music rooted in faith, healing, worship, and spiritual renewal.

The Black Music & Entertainment Walk of Fame was founded by Catherine Brewton, Demmette Guidry, and music executive Michael Mauldin with the mission of honoring Black artists, executives, innovators, and changemakers whose cultural contributions have left a lasting impact on society and the entertainment industry.

According to organizers, the Walk of Fame was specifically created to ensure that Black excellence in music and entertainment is recognized in a way that reflects both historical significance and cultural influence.

Morton now joins an esteemed list of previous gospel honorees that includes Tamela Mann, Donald Lawrence, Kirk Franklin, and sibling duo BeBe & CeCe Winans, all of whom have played pivotal roles in expanding gospel music's reach and influence around the world.

Fans, artists, and church leaders quickly flooded social media with congratulatory messages following the announcement, celebrating Morton's enduring legacy both in music and ministry.

For many within the gospel community, the honor represents not only recognition of Morton's musical achievements but also acknowledgment of his spiritual leadership and decades of service to the Church through preaching, worship, mentorship, and songwriting.

Congratulations to Bishop Paul S. Morton on this historic and well-deserved honor.
