Latto has welcomed her first child. The 27-year-old rapper confirmed the birth on Instagram on Monday, May 18, also revealing that fellow rapper 21 Savage is the father.
The birth announcement came through an emotional video documenting her pregnancy journey - showing her paddleboarding at 29 weeks, training in the gym at 32 weeks, and at 37 weeks, tearfully telling the camera she was ready to meet her baby. The video ends with audio from inside the delivery room.
In the video, Latto spoke directly to her child: "I was already thinking about naming my album 'Big Mama,' and then I found out about you - and everything fell into place. I thought this was going to hinder me. I was worried about making this album sober, being tired and exhausted as my body went through all these changes."
She made the album anyway.
Latto first revealed her pregnancy in March alongside the Big Mama album announcement, debuting her baby bump in the music video for her single "Business & Personal." Her album caption read simply: "Thank you God."
On May 8, she announced on X that Big Mama would be her retirement album, writing: "5/29. My retirement album. Thank you for everything."
The 17-track project drops May 29.
