Rock legend Billy Idol was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 52nd American Music Awards, held Monday night at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
The award recognized Idol's incomparable career, body of work, and unparalleled contributions to music, honoring his lasting legacy and continued influence on generations of artists and fans.
Idol became only the third recipient of the honor, following Diana Ross in 2017 and Rod Stewart in 2025.
He delivered a medley of his biggest hits during the ceremony - marking his first time on the AMAs stage since presenting in 2004 and his first AMAs performance ever. The set drew from a catalog that spans nearly five decades, including "White Wedding," "Dancing With Myself," "Rebel Yell," and "Eyes Without a Face."
The Lifetime Achievement honor capped what has already been a milestone year for Idol. 2026 marks his 50th anniversary in music, and he was previously announced as a 2026 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee.
Queen Latifah hosted the evening. Other performers on the night included Karol G, Sombr, and KATSEYE.
For a man who has spent half a century refusing to slow down, the night served as a reminder that a career built on perseverance and passion has a way of standing the test of time - a truth that resonates well beyond the stage.
