Sometimes the most powerful songs are the ones that don't need much explanation.

On May 29, David Leonard released "Walkin' On Down" - his newest single and a New Music Friday pick that arrives with all the earthy, unhurried faith that has defined his best work. Alongside the release, Leonard kept his message short on Facebook: "I'm walkin' on down, Lord." Five words. All you need to know.

The single is available on all streaming platforms and accompanied by an official music video now live on YouTube.

Arkansas native and Tennessee resident Leonard has been writing and recording music since college, later becoming one half of the critically acclaimed, GRAMMY Award-nominated worship duo All Sons & Daughters. His songwriting credits include beloved worship standards "Great Are You Lord," "All The Poor and Powerless," and "God Who Moves The Mountains."

After signing with Provident Label Group, Leonard stepped into his solo chapter with renewed creative focus - and "Walkin' On Down" reflects exactly that. The single artwork, shot against a desert landscape with a small white church in the background, says as much as the lyric does.

A Christian singer, songwriter, and producer, Leonard brings heartland praise and worship sensibility to everything he creates. This new song is no different - it's the sound of someone who knows where they're headed and isn't in a hurry to prove it.

"Walkin' On Down" is out now on all streaming platforms. Watch the official music video on YouTube.
