Leanette Lopez Has a Message for the Church - and She Put It in a Song
A veteran ministry leader is calling believers to stop staying comfortable - and her new single is already hitting Christian radio.
Leanette Lopez, a preacher and worship leader with more than three decades of ministry behind her, released her new single "Take This Land" to Christian radio on June 2. The song blends Christian CHR/Hot AC and Gospel elements into something that feels less like a music release and more like a challenge issued directly to the Church.
The message is built around a simple but pointed question in the lyrics: "How will they know if we don't say? How can we preach if we don't pray?" Lopez wrote the song out of a conviction that the body of Christ is stronger united than scattered - across denominations, ministries, and congregations - and that the urgency to share the Gospel demands more than good intentions.
The chorus drives the point home with an anthem-style declaration calling believers to boldly rise and claim spiritual ground for Jesus. Inspired by biblical principles of repentance, prayer, and renewal, the track carries the kind of energy that belongs as much in a worship service as on a radio playlist.
"Take This Land" was written by Lopez and produced by Jerroll Lehman. It is available now on all digital platforms. A lyric video is also live on YouTube.
