Over 40 years after its release, Thriller is doing what only Michael Jackson can do - making history all over again.

The iconic Thriller album re-entered the Billboard 200 at No. 7, with 45,000 equivalent album units - a 425% weekly improvement - marking its best chart position since 2022. And that's just the beginning.

Thriller also returned to No. 1 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart - its first week at the top since 1984 - earning 62,000 equivalent album units driven largely by 50.3 million on-demand streams.

Jackson also raced to No. 3 on the Billboard Artist 100, with six songs charting simultaneously on the Hot 100 - all bounding into the top 10.

What's fueling the surge? The blockbuster biopic Michael, now in its second week in theaters, has ignited a massive resurgence in demand for Jackson's catalog on a scale rarely seen outside the holiday season.

For a generation rediscovering the King of Pop, the music speaks for itself. Jackson, who spoke openly about his Christian faith and belief in God throughout his life, once said music was his gift to give the world - and four decades later, the world is still receiving it.
