Simone Biles, the most decorated gymnast in history, broke her silence on Saturday, June 6, 2026.

The 11-time Olympic medalist posted a message on her Instagram Stories alongside a photo of a hospital ID wristband, flowers, and a heart rate monitor, revealing that she had been hospitalized and was still recovering. She did not disclose the nature of the medical emergency, but her words were enough to send shockwaves across social media within minutes.

"I'm not one to normally share things like this because I value privacy in today's age, but almost dying wasn't on my bingo card earlier this week," she wrote. "This was one of, if not the scariest, experience of my life. Especially since Jonathan was in Indy for practices."

Her husband, Indianapolis Colts safety Jonathan Owens, was away for offseason practice when the emergency occurred, leaving Biles to face the terrifying ordeal in the couple's Houston-area home.

She added that she has spent the week resting in bed and closed her message with a heartfelt thank-you to her inner circle: "S/o to my close circle who reached out, checked in, visited and or sent flowers - looooovveeee y'all." She promised her followers she would share more details when she is ready.

The response from fans, athletes, and the public was immediate. "Omg. Get well ASAP, please! Prayers going up for you, Simone," one commenter wrote. Another said, "Hope you get better soon - please let us know what happened." Thousands more flooded her social media with well wishes, making her name one of the top trending searches in the United States overnight.

For those who have followed Simone Biles beyond the gymnastics mat, her resilience in this moment comes as no surprise. She has faced enormous personal and public challenges across her life - and her Catholic faith has been a steady anchor through every one of them.

She has spoken openly about leaning on God through the tough times, saying, "I have a lot of faith in God. It really helps me through the tough times. I pray every night before I go to bed and I feel like God is with me when I compete." She keeps a rosary in her gym bag during competition and has attributed her extraordinary abilities entirely to God, saying simply, "I don't physically understand how I do it. It is a God-given talent."

Her mother Nellie raised her with that same faith as the foundation, telling her children: "I know it doesn't matter what situation you are ever in, you just put it in the hands of the Lord and He's going to walk you through it."

This week, those words carry extra weight. Simone Biles is resting, recovering, and surrounded by the people who love her. The JubileeCast community joins the millions around the world praying for her full and swift recovery.

She will explain when she is ready. Until then - we are just grateful she is still here.
