If you watched the FIFA World Cup 2026 Opening Ceremony at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City on June 11 and found yourself asking, "Who is that?" - you are not alone. The answer is EJAE, and her story is one the Christian community will want to know.

Korean-American singer-songwriter EJAE joined legendary Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli on the world's biggest sporting stage for a stunning live performance of "DNA," the official FIFA World Cup 2026 anthem. Dressed in a striking blue halter-neck gown with white floral details, she captivated a global audience - delivering her portion of the anthem entirely in Korean.

The song also features David Guetta and Megan Thee Stallion, though only Bocelli and EJAE took the stage at Estadio Azteca, making it one of the most cross-cultural moments in World Cup opening ceremony history.

But this was not EJAE's first time in front of the world.

Born Kim Eun-jae in Seoul, EJAE is the Grammy, Oscar, and Golden Globe Award-winning songwriter behind "Golden" - the signature song from Netflix's record-breaking animated film KPop Demon Hunters. She served as the singing voice of main character Rumi and co-wrote much of the film's landmark soundtrack, which became the most-watched animated film on Netflix of all time with over 500 million global views.

"Golden" topped the Billboard Hot 100 for eight weeks and made history as the first K-pop song to win a Grammy Award.

What sets EJAE apart from the headlines, however, is her faith. EJAE is openly Christian - and she has never been quiet about it. In a Forbes interview, she shared that her Christian upbringing directly shaped her songwriting, particularly the KPop Demon Hunters track "Your Idol." She explained that the song was inspired by the biblical teaching against idolizing anything other than God - a bold message embedded inside one of the biggest pop soundtracks of 2025.

At the 2026 Golden Globes, accepting the Best Original Song award, EJAE offered a message that sounded less like a Hollywood speech and more like a testimony: "When I was a little girl, I worked tirelessly for 10 years to fill one dream - to become a K-pop idol - and I was rejected. I can confidently say, rejection is redirection. It's never too late to shine like you were born to be."

On the grandest stage in world football, that same faith-shaped voice declared something bigger than a trophy or a tournament. FIFA built "DNA" around the conviction that football is more than a game - that it carries identity, unity, and belonging. For believers, those are not just sporting values. They are Kingdom ones.

"DNA" by Andrea Bocelli, EJAE, David Guetta, and Megan Thee Stallion is available now on all major streaming platforms.
