The stars are out for one of music's biggest nights as the 2026 BET Awards celebrate the year's most influential artists-and Cardi B is leading the charge.
Fresh off becoming the only female rapper whose first two albums debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, Cardi B enters "Culture's Biggest Night" as the most-nominated artist, setting up what could become another career-defining evening. Hip-hop heavyweights Kendrick Lamar, Doechii and Doja Cat are close behind, making this year's competition one of the fiercest in recent memory.
But the BET Awards aren't just about chart-topping hits. The annual celebration also shines a spotlight on Black excellence across film, television, sports and inspirational music, bringing together some of entertainment's biggest names under one roof.
For Christian and gospel music fans, the coveted Dr. Bobby Jones Best Gospel/Inspirational Award features an all-star lineup. Gospel icon Kirk Franklin earned two nominations for "Able" and "Do It Again," while CeCe Winans received recognition for "At the Cross." Tasha Cobbs Leonard also scored multiple nominations with both "Already Good (Tasha Slide)" and her collaboration with John Legend, "Church." BeBe Winans, Lecrae, Darrel Walls, PJ Morton and Kim Burrell round out one of the strongest gospel fields in recent years.
Beyond music, Hollywood royalty Michael B. Jordan, Denzel Washington, Keke Palmer, Angela Bassett, Cynthia Erivo and Teyana Taylor are all nominated in the film and television categories, while sports icons LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Coco Gauff, Sha'Carri Richardson and A'ja Wilson battle for top athletic honors.
Meanwhile, fashion takes center stage as A$AP Rocky, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Cardi B, Zendaya, Bad Bunny and Teyana Taylor compete for the coveted Fashion Vanguard Award.
Adding even more excitement, comedian Druski makes history as the youngest host ever to helm the BET Awards at just 31 years old.
With superstar nominees spanning hip-hop, R&B, gospel, Hollywood and professional sports, the 2026 BET Awards promise a night packed with unforgettable performances, emotional acceptance speeches and plenty of headline-making moments.
