"We're kind of a little speechless, I mean, what do you say when you have people out there that you write songs for, I mean ultimately you write songs for the Lord, but your hope is that you write songs that connect with people's hearts. And, when you have people out there in that auditorium, they announce your name and some of them rise to their feet, you just sit there, you're humbled, but your thankful that you did something that impacted their lives," said Luke Smallbone, of For King & Country, Breakthrough Artist of the Year.
"I really wanted to just start crying, and I was like, 'ok pull it together,' so I'm still shaking and just thinking about my parents being at home. We're just waiting for my sister to have her first baby, I was like, I'll be right back, I'll just have to go out of town for a couple of days, don't have this baby yet," Kari Jobe, Female Artist of the Year. "It's just so neat to be used by the Lord and know that I'm doing what I've been called to do, it's really special."
"We are so shocked, I mean, my gosh, '10,000 Reasons' was up there, that needs to win like every time, you know what I mean? Gosh, I've got a feeling we're gonna be singing part of that in heaven, you know, and so when they said our name I was just like, you know, I'm not easily rendered speechless but I had not a lot to say. I like, what in the... I couldn't even speak, you know? It was unbelievable, it was so cool." said Mike Weaver, from Big Daddy Weave, about their Song of the Year award for 'Redeemed.'
