AntMan Release Date, Latest News: Size Doesn't Matter, AntMan Joining Marvel's Superhero Movie Line - Up
Another superhero sci - fi movie to look forward to in the coming year is Marvel's AntMan, an upcoming American film based on the popular Marvel Comics characters of the same name. The AntMan movie will serve as the twelfth installment among Marvel's series of superhero films that all in all comprises of what is popularly known to fans and movie enthusiasts alike as the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). News has already confirmed that the AntMan film will be directed by Peyton Reed (Yes Man, 2008) and will be joined by writers Edgar Wright, Joe Cornish and Adam McKay. Principal characters will include Paul Rudd (Clueless, 1995), who is set to play the character of a petty criminal who, due to some mysterious Antman technology, acquires the ability to shrink and become stronger; this Antman technology is invented by a certain Dr. Hank Pym, who will be played by Michael Douglass (Wall Street, 1987), a physicist who helps Rudd become AntMan. They will also be joined by Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, as well as Michael Peña and David Dastmalchian.
The AntMan release was originally set to be on July 31, 2015. It was confirmed just recently, however, that the AntMan release date has now been moved two weeks earlier to July 17, 2015. Because of this, AntMan will inevitably face off the big-budget Peter Pan movie called Pan.
