Southern Gospel fans have something exciting to look forward to this summer. Anthem Edition has announced that its brand-new EP, Something's Goin' On, will arrive on August 28, and the group says this collection may be their most personal project yet.
Rather than simply selecting songs that sounded good, the quartet chose music that reflected what each member was experiencing in their own spiritual journey. According to Tim Rackley, every song on the project connected deeply with the group before it was ever recorded.
"When we started searching for songs to record, each member of the group had songs that truly spoke to where they are in life right now," Rackley shared. "We knew, if the songs moved us in a powerful way, they would move the listeners as well."
The seven-song EP combines three previously released tracks-including the chart-climbing "He Is Who He Is"-with four brand-new songs that showcase the group's signature harmonies while exploring themes of grace, hope, and God's faithfulness.
Listeners can expect everything from joyful, upbeat anthems to heartfelt ballads. Songs such as "He Still Washed His Feet" highlight Christ's humility, while "Land Of Joy Untold" brings a relaxed country flavor. "I'm Another Lazarus" celebrates God's life-changing power, and the title track closes the project on a high note.
One of the standout moments is the focus track, "I Am Saved." Produced by Roger Talley, the song blends classic Southern Gospel quartet singing with contemporary touches, delivering a simple but powerful declaration of salvation and God's mercy.
Rackley believes the project represents an important milestone for the group.
"Filled with strong songs, great harmonies, and messages that point people to Christ, this project blends the best of Southern Gospel tradition with a fresh sound for today's listeners," he said. "From start to finish, these songs encourage, inspire, and remind us of God's faithfulness. Something's Goin' On shows just how far this lineup has come."
Originally founded in 2003 as The Old Paths, the group reintroduced itself as Anthem Edition in 2022 while continuing its ministry with a renewed lineup and vision. Since then, the quartet has continued building momentum with new music that honors its Southern Gospel roots while reaching today's audiences.
