Kelly's own testimony has also become a defining part of his ministry. Before becoming a pastor, he worked in the music industry as both a musician and tour manager, spending time with major artists including Nickelback, Richard Marx, Stryper, Candlebox, Wang Chung, and RED.
According to his ministry, everything changed after a near-fatal car accident while touring with the Christian rock band RED. Kelly says the experience led him to surrender his life to Christ and leave the music business behind to pursue full-time ministry.
