Suki Waterhouse says her time opening for Taylor Swift's Eras Tour left a lasting mark on how she approaches her own music, including her just-released third album, "Loveland."

Speaking on Billboard's Pop Shop Podcast, Waterhouse traced some of the album's influences back to two major live-music moments in her life: opening for Swift at Wembley Stadium, and later returning to the same venue to watch Oasis reunite. "I opened for Taylor on the Eras Tour, so I got that experience of being at Wembley, then went back there the year later, saw my favorite band in the world that I grew up with," she said, adding that both experiences were "running through my veins" while writing the new record.

Waterhouse also opened up about how becoming a mother reshaped her songwriting process. She welcomed a daughter with partner Robert Pattinson in March 2024, just days after wrapping her previous album. "I never go, 'OK, now I'm starting the new record!'" she said, describing how "Loveland" instead came together gradually in the months after her daughter's birth.

The singer described the new project as capturing a season of feeling "wiser and sillier than ever," co-writing every track herself alongside hitmakers including Amy Allen, Aaron Dessner, Joel Little, Dan Wilson, and Emily Warren. For an artist candid about her own growth, seasons like this one carry a quiet undertone of gratitude many listeners of faith would recognize as its own kind of grace.

"Loveland" is out now on Island Records.
