Savannah Guthrie returned to her seat on Today Tuesday, July 14, following a four-day absence from the broadcast, as her family marked five months since her mother Nancy's disappearance with a new public statement.

Today co-host Craig Melvin welcomed Savannah back on-air, noting she had taken "some much deserved time off." Guthrie told viewers she spent part of her break watching FIFA World Cup matches with her family, offering a rare lighter moment amid the ongoing search for her 84-year-old mother.

The return coincided with a new statement issued to Tucson-based KOLD 13 News on behalf of the Guthrie family. "It is five months of agony and unending trauma for our family," the statement read. "There is not a moment that goes by that we aren't actively trying to find our mom. We thank the people of Tucson for holding her in their hearts, as well as both the FBI and the Pima County Sheriff's Office for their tireless work on behalf of our family. Bring her home."

Nancy Guthrie was reported missing from her Catalina Foothills home near Tucson, Arizona, on February 1. Investigators believe she was abducted, and the case remains under active investigation by the FBI and Pima County Sheriff's Department, with a combined $1.2 million reward still active for information leading to her recovery.

Throughout the search, Savannah has repeatedly pointed to prayer and faith as what has carried her family through the uncertainty, telling viewers in past appearances that she and her siblings continue to "feel your prayers" even without answers.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI or the Pima County Sheriff's Department tip line at (520) 351-4900.
