Taylor Swift's trophy shelf may need even more room.
Just one month after making history with her induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, the global superstar has scored yet another career-defining honor-this time earning a nomination for the 2026 Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.
Swift is one of just four finalists in the highly competitive Contemporary Songwriter/Artist category, where she'll go head-to-head with country music icons Miranda Lambert, Chris Stapleton, and Phil Vassar. Only one artist will be inducted from the category, making the race one of the biggest honors in Nashville songwriting.
The nomination is another reminder that long before Swift became a global pop phenomenon selling out stadiums around the world, she was a teenage songwriter crafting hits in Music City.
Her songwriting catalog has become one of the most celebrated of the modern era. From country classics like "Love Story," "White Horse," and "Mean" to fan favorites across multiple genres, Swift has built a career on lyrics that have resonated with millions. She's also penned major hits for other artists, including Little Big Town's Grammy-winning "Better Man."
The timing couldn't be more remarkable. Only weeks ago, Swift became the youngest woman ever inducted into the national Songwriters Hall of Fame, adding another milestone to a career already packed with record-breaking achievements. Now, she's within striking distance of another elite club dedicated specifically to the writers who helped define Nashville's musical legacy.
Of course, the competition is fierce.
Miranda Lambert enters the race as one of country music's most respected songwriters, with hits including "Automatic," "Over You," and Ella Langley's chart-topping "Choosin' Texas." Chris Stapleton, meanwhile, boasts multiple Grammy-winning songwriting credits including "Broken Halos," "White Horse," and "Starting Over," while veteran hitmaker Phil Vassar is recognized for writing enduring favorites such as "Just Another Day in Paradise" and Jo Dee Messina's "Bye, Bye."
The Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame also announced eight nominees in its Contemporary Songwriters category, where two inductees will be selected. Those nominees include Jim Beavers, Shawn Camp, Rodney Clawson, Dallas Davidson, Marv Green, Lee Thomas Miller, Neil Thrasher and Chris Tompkins-writers whose songs have dominated country radio for decades.
Executive Director Mark Ford congratulated this year's nominees, saying the organization looks forward to announcing the full Class of 2026 later this fall.
Founded in 1970, the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame honors the writers whose songs helped shape Music City and influence generations of artists. Eligibility requires nominees to have first found major songwriting success at least 20 years earlier, making induction one of the industry's most prestigious lifetime achievements.
If Swift's recent winning streak is any indication, another Hall of Fame plaque could soon be joining her ever-growing collection.
