Christian music star Forrest Frank is opening up about one of the most dramatic moments of his faith journey, revealing that he believes a demonic presence left him the moment he walked into a church service that ultimately transformed his life.
Speaking on the Bryce Crawford Podcast, the chart-topping artist reflected on a season of depression, anxiety and spiritual emptiness after walking away from the faith he had grown up around.
"I went into college and I was like, 'I'm not going to be a Christian,'" Frank recalled, explaining that he stopped praying, stopped attending church and simply followed his feelings-a decision he says led him deeper into anxiety and depression.
Everything changed one afternoon in a coffee shop.
Frank said he suddenly had what he describes as an "idea" that didn't feel like his own.
"I'll call it an idea," he said. "It didn't sound like my idea. The sentiment was, 'You should go to a church service right now.'"
Although the service at Antioch Church had already been underway for more than an hour, Frank decided to show up anyway, expecting to quietly slip into the back.
Instead, he says he encountered something he still struggles to explain.
"I walked in the building and immediately felt baggage leave me," Frank shared. "Maybe there was literally a demon on me and it wasn't allowed in the place, and I could kind of feel that weight and burden lift off of me."
The service turned out not to be an ordinary Wednesday gathering but the culmination of a church-wide three-day fast filled with extended worship and prayer. Walking into a room full of people already on their knees before God, Frank says he collapsed as he encountered what he believes was the overwhelming presence of Jesus.
"I experienced and encountered the love of Jesus," he said. "I encountered every single thing that I was ever looking for."
Frank said he sensed God speaking words of love and identity over him, telling him, "You're my child. I love you. This is your home." That moment became the turning point that redirected the course of his life.
Only a week later, friends invited him on a mission trip, where he immersed himself in Scripture, worship and serving others. Looking back, Frank says that decision cemented the transformation that began in that worship service.
"It's been rocky moments for sure," he admitted, "but since that day, my entire life has changed. I literally feel like my life started on that day."
Today, Forrest Frank has become one of Christian music's biggest breakout artists, but he says his success all traces back to the day he unexpectedly walked through the doors of a church-and believes he walked out a completely different person.
