Gospel powerhouse Darwin Hobbs has fans celebrating after revealing an incredible personal milestone-he has officially lost an astonishing 146 pounds.
The beloved worship leader took to social media to share his dramatic transformation, reminding followers that the achievement didn't happen overnight but is the result of years of perseverance, lifestyle changes, and determination.
Hobbs explained that his health journey began back in 2010 when he underwent weight-loss surgery. More recently, he added Mounjaro, a GLP-1 medication prescribed to help manage his Type 2 diabetes, which has also supported his ongoing weight-loss efforts.
But the award-winning gospel singer was quick to push back against the idea that medication alone deserves the credit.
"The hard work of diet and exercise continues," Hobbs wrote, thanking his trainer, Richard Dilwood, for helping keep him focused and accountable throughout the journey.
The singer also offered an honest glimpse into the emotional toll obesity can take.
"I wouldn't wish obesity on anyone," he shared, reflecting on the difficult road that has brought him to this point.
Despite already shedding 146 pounds, Hobbs isn't finished yet.
He's now aiming to reach 250 pounds by Christmas, describing the milestone as a special gift for his wife, Traci McCloud Hobbs, and their daughter, Bethany.
"If I show up for me," Hobbs wrote, "then that means I'm here for them."
The heartfelt update resonated with fans, many of whom praised not only his physical transformation but also his transparency about the realities of weight loss, diabetes, and long-term health.
A Texas native, Hobbs first captured national attention as a featured vocalist with John P. Kee's renowned New Life Community Choir before launching a celebrated solo career of his own.
