Josh Baldwin is entering a new musical chapter-and this one sounds especially personal.
The acclaimed worship leader and singer-songwriter has announced his new album, Worth Everything, arriving October 16, revealing that the project has been sitting on his heart for quite some time.
Rather than simply dropping an album title and release date, Baldwin opened up about what has apparently been happening behind the songs: a season of learning about surrender, sacrifice and what it really means to believe that Jesus is worth the cost.
"This record has been on my heart for a long time," Baldwin shared in announcing the project. "It feels like it captures so much of what the Lord has been teaching me lately."
And Baldwin didn't leave fans guessing about the theme.
"At the center of it all is surrender," he explained. "Learning that no cost is too great. He is worth it all."
It's a revealing statement from an artist whose career has already produced some major modern worship favorites. Baldwin is perhaps best known for songs including "Stand in Your Love" and "Evidence," with the latter reaching No. 7 on Billboard's Hot Christian Songs chart. His 2017 Bethel Music album The War Is Over was also a significant success, reaching No. 2 on Billboard's Christian Albums chart.
Now, however, Baldwin appears ready to turn the page.
The first taste of the new project arrives Friday, August 14, when Baldwin releases its title track, "Worth Everything." The song isn't completely unfamiliar to fans who have been following him closely: Baldwin has previously teased and performed "Worth Everything," describing it as one of his favorites.
But putting the song at the center of an entire album gives its message considerably more weight.
Baldwin says his hope for Worth Everything goes beyond simply giving listeners another collection of worship songs. He wants the record to encourage people in their relationship with God, particularly during difficult or uncertain seasons.
"My prayer is that these songs would draw you closer to the heart of the Father and encourage you in your walk with Him," he shared, adding that he hopes listeners will be reminded that God remains faithful and near "in every season."
That language makes Worth Everything sound less like just another album cycle and more like something of a spiritual diary-songs apparently born from lessons Baldwin himself has been walking through.
The timing also makes the project intriguing. Baldwin has spent years establishing himself as one of the recognizable voices connected with Bethel Music, while songs such as "Stand in Your Love" and "Evidence" have taken his music far beyond the walls of his own church community. His first solo Bethel Music album, The War Is Over, debuted at No. 2 on Billboard's Christian Albums chart after moving 3,000 equivalent album units in its opening week.
Evidence followed in 2020, with its title song becoming one of Baldwin's biggest hits.
Now Worth Everything finds Baldwin returning with a strikingly simple declaration: after everything, Jesus is still worth it.
And judging by the way Baldwin is talking about the record, fans may be getting one of his most personal projects yet.
"Worth Everything" arrives August 14, while the full Worth Everything album is scheduled for October 16.
