Rod Stewart will not finish his "One Last Time" farewell tour this year after undergoing a coronary stent procedure, his team confirmed this week.
"Following further medical evaluation, Sir Rod Stewart has successfully undergone a routine coronary stent procedure," a statement shared on his Instagram read. "Doctors are pleased with his recovery, and Rod is doing very well and has returned to his normal daily activities." Stewart, 81, will take four weeks to recover before returning to the stage, meaning his remaining tour stops - including Kansas City, the Iowa State Fair, and his Las Vegas residency - will not go on as planned. Refunds are being issued through E-Tix and his official website.
In his own message to fans, Stewart wrote, "I'm already feeling better and very much on the mend. I want to thank the doctors, nurses and everyone who has taken such wonderful care of me. I'm deeply disappointed to miss these shows and sorry to let my fans down, but I look forward to getting back on stage and having a good time with you all again soon."
The procedure follows a rough stretch for the singer. He postponed a Cincinnati show days earlier due to what venue staff called a "minor medical procedure," canceled a Cleveland performance entirely, and had already called off two Las Vegas shows and a San Diego concert earlier this year, as previously reported. In June, he required an onstage oxygen tank during a Utah performance before joking his way through the rest of the set.
