Christy Knowings, best known for her three seasons on Nickelodeon's sketch-comedy series "All That," has died at 46, her family confirmed this week.
According to TMZ, Knowings suffered an asthma attack on Aug. 7 that left her with brain damage. She was placed on life support at a Los Angeles-area hospital, and her family made the decision to remove her from life support on Aug. 11. Her aunt, Tyleah Joseph, announced the death on Facebook, calling her "an outstanding actress, comedian, twin sister, an amazing daughter."
Knowings joined "All That" in 1997 after appearing in a Nickelodeon sketch pilot produced by Rosie O'Donnell, and remained with the show through 2000, appearing in 32 episodes alongside Kenan Thompson, Kel Mitchell, Amanda Bynes and Nick Cannon. She later appeared in three episodes of "Sesame Street" alongside her twin brother, Chris Knowings, and released a folk single, "To the World," in 2020.
Thompson, her former castmate, paid tribute on social media: "She was a real one and one of the funniest people out here!!! Gonna miss you buddy!!!"
Away from the screen, Knowings was open about her Christian faith on social media, sharing testimony videos about her church life and describing her walk with Jesus as imperfect but genuine - a thread fans and fellow believers are now returning to as they process the news.
Her death comes just months after former "All That" castmate Kianna Underwood was killed in a hit-and-run in Brooklyn in January, marking a second loss for the show's alumni community this year.
