Princess Eugenie has revealed the name of her newborn daughter, sharing a heartfelt tribute to her late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, two weeks after welcoming the baby girl.
The royal announced on Instagram Monday, August 17, that she and husband Jack Brooksbank have named their daughter Adelaide Elizabeth Annina Brooksbank. "We are so happy to share Adelaide Elizabeth Annina Brooksbank. Named after three people we love and admire past and present, including her Great-Grandmother who we hold close in our hearts," Eugenie wrote, alongside new photos of the baby with her two older brothers.
Adelaide was born August 3 at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal, weighing 6 pounds, 9 ounces, and is now 15th in line to the British throne. She's the couple's first daughter, joining big brothers August, 5, and Ernest, 3. Eugenie shared that the name also reflects "English and Portuguese history, two places we love and call home," nodding to the family's ties to both countries.
Adelaide joins a growing list of Queen Elizabeth's great-grandchildren carrying her name forward, including Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's daughter, Lilibet, named for the late Queen's childhood nickname.
