Karl-Anthony Towns has a new verse to add to his story.

The New York Knicks center and Jordyn Woods wed Saturday, August 15, in a black-tie ceremony at an outdoor Malibu venue overlooking the Pacific. The wedding came roughly eight months after their December engagement and six years into their relationship. Guests reportedly received hoodies reading "Married in 5," a nod to Towns' recent NBA Finals win with the Knicks.

Woods and Towns' relationship deepened during an especially difficult season for both of them. Towns lost his mother, Jacqueline Cruz-Towns, to COVID-19 complications in April 2020, while Woods had lost her own father in 2017. Towns has spoken openly about how his faith carried him through that loss - crediting Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me," as the verse that became his anchor, one he later had tattooed alongside the date of his mother's passing.

Through that season, Woods was by his side. In a 2021 tribute, Towns wrote, "My woman has held me down more than the world knows." Reflecting on the pivotal moment their friendship turned into something more, Towns said, "It just so happened, the COVID came and brought its challenges, and forced us to either pick where our relationship was going to go as friends or something more. And we chose the latter."

The couple exchanged vows during an outdoor ceremony surrounded by white floral arrangements and their closest family and friends. Woods wore a strapless, floor-length white gown with a flowing chiffon train, while Towns wore a classic black tuxedo. The guest list reflected their reach across sports and entertainment, including Kylie Jenner, Timothée Chalamet, Justin and Hailey Bieber, Michael B. Jordan, and several of Towns' Knicks teammates, including Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, and OG Anunoby.

For Towns, who has spoken publicly about walking through grief "with the angels beside" him and feeling his mother's presence in his biggest moments, this wedding closes out a season that carried both heartbreak and triumph - a championship, and now a marriage to the woman who walked through the hardest years alongside him.
