Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are packing up their life in Montecito, California, and heading back to Britain - six years after stepping away from royal duties and crossing the Atlantic for a fresh start.

Multiple outlets, including the BBC and The Washington Post, reported Wednesday that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex plan to relocate to a private, non-royal residence outside London before the end of August. The move comes as their children, Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, are set to begin at a British school in September, according to the reports.

Harry and Meghan will reportedly keep their 16-bedroom Montecito estate, along with a vacation property in Portugal, even as they establish a new home base in England. There are no public plans for either of them to resume royal duties or a working role within the monarchy, sources told the outlets.

The relocation follows a string of small but notable steps toward reconciliation between Harry and the royal family over the past year - including a private tea with King Charles at Clarence House in September 2025, and a July visit where Archie and Lilibet met their grandfather at Highgrove for the first time since 2022.

Scripture calls believers to pursue peace within their families whenever possible - "If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone" (Romans 12:18) - and for many watching this long-running royal rift, this latest move reads less like a scandal and more like a quiet step toward that kind of peace.

Neither Buckingham Palace nor representatives for the Sussexes have issued an official statement confirming the couple's exact moving date or new address.
