Latest on Hayden Panettiere’s Death: Boyfriend Brian Hickerson Allegedly Gave Her Narcan in Desperate Final Moments

The mystery surrounding Hayden Panettiere's shocking death has taken another dramatic turn, with the brother of her boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, revealing disturbing new details about the frantic attempts to save the Nashville star.

According to a new report from TMZ, Brian's brother, Zach Hickerson, claims Brian administered Narcan to Panettiere after the brothers found the 36-year-old actress unconscious at a Greenville, South Carolina, residence on August 16.

The revelation is significant. Narcan, also known as naloxone, is commonly used in emergencies to reverse an opioid overdose. However, the fact that it was reportedly administered does not mean investigators have determined that Panettiere suffered an overdose.

According to Zach's account, he went to the residence after being unable to reach Panettiere and Brian. Brian was reportedly asleep in another room when Zach arrived. After Zach woke his brother, they discovered Panettiere unconscious.

What followed was apparently a desperate race to save her.

Zach claims he called 911 while Brian administered Narcan through Panettiere's nose. The brothers then allegedly performed CPR until emergency responders arrived and took over lifesaving efforts. Panettiere was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene.

The claim adds a crucial new detail to earlier reports that Narcan had been found inside the residence. Until now, it had remained unclear whether the medication had actually been used on Panettiere.

Meanwhile, questions continue to swirl over exactly what happened during the actress's final hours.

Police records reportedly show that Brian presented officers with a bag containing Panettiere's medications, although publicly released documents have redacted the names of those medications. Surveillance footage from the property could also help investigators piece together who entered and left the residence and when.

The investigation has attracted even more attention amid reports that the DEA has become involved, as authorities examine whether drugs may have played any role in Panettiere's death.

Still, there is one major piece of information investigators - and the public - do not yet have: an official cause of death.

The Greenville County Coroner's Office has said there was no visible trauma contributing to Panettiere's death, while authorities have not announced evidence of foul play. Toxicology and other testing remain pending and could take weeks to complete.

Zach has also pushed back against the intense speculation surrounding his brother, urging people to allow investigators to establish what happened rather than reaching their own conclusions. Neither Brian nor Zach Hickerson has been accused of causing Panettiere's death.

Brian's attorney has likewise cautioned against speculation while authorities continue their work.

Adding another intriguing wrinkle, a representative for Panettiere recently said there was nothing further to share while the investigation remained underway but expressed hope that "justice will be served." The representative did not elaborate on what was meant by that statement.

Panettiere's death has generated enormous attention not only because of her years in Hollywood but also because of her complicated history with Hickerson. Their relationship had previously made headlines over domestic violence incidents and Hickerson's legal troubles, inevitably putting renewed scrutiny on him following her death.

For now, however, the most important questions remain unanswered.

Why was Narcan apparently available inside the residence? Why did Brian believe it should be administered? What medications had Panettiere been taking? And, most importantly, what will toxicology testing reveal?

Until investigators release those results, Zach Hickerson's dramatic account offers a clearer picture of Panettiere's final moments - but it also adds another layer to a tragedy already surrounded by unanswered questions
