Brandon Lake has released "How Good God Is," a new single that's been building anticipation among fans since he first teased it back in June. The track officially dropped Aug. 28.

Written with Jonathan Smith, Derrick Southerland, and Emily Weisband, the song finds Lake looking back on the wrong turns and low points of his life - not with shame, but with gratitude for how they shaped his understanding of God's grace. "Thank God for the weakness that showed me His strength / Thank God for the fire that forged me with faith," he sings. "If He spared me from drifting as far as I did / Then I never would have ever known how good God is."

Sharing a snippet ahead of release, Lake wrote on social media, "I didn't see the light 'til He opened my eyes in my darkest hour." The song's sound leans into swelling, orchestral instrumentation paired with Lake's powerhouse vocals, marking a return to classic contemporary worship after a string of country-leaning collaborations this year with artists including Nick Jonas, Lainey Wilson, Bailey Zimmerman, and Cody Johnson.

Fans reacted immediately after the release, with one commenting "Instant tears" and another calling it "such a beautiful worship song." Lake has said the track represents a cornerstone moment in his next chapter of music, blending the worship roots that built his career with the more personal, testimony-driven songwriting he's leaned into recently.

"How Good God Is" is available now on all streaming platforms.
