An extraordinary wave of generosity has followed the tragic death of Pastor Robert Earl Guanco, the 41-year-old husband and father killed when a large sign collapsed at Big Church Festival in West Sussex.
More than 4,400 donations have pushed the official fundraiser beyond £138,000-bringing it within touching distance of its increased £140,000 goal. Pastor Robert died at the scene after the sign fell at Big Church Festival on August 28. Six other people were injured, four of whom were taken to the hospital. Festivalgoers reportedly rushed forward to help lift the fallen structure as emergency crews responded.
The remainder of the three-day Christian music and worship festival at Wiston Park, near Steyning, was subsequently canceled. Money raised through the campaign will help relieve some of the immediate financial pressures facing Isaeli and Ellie, allowing them time to grieve, heal, and support one another following Robert's sudden death.
