Disney Star Carla Jeffery’s Family Denies Drug Rumors After Her Sudden Death At 33

The mystery surrounding Disney Channel star Carla Jeffery's sudden death has taken another emotional turn, with her grieving family forcefully shutting down speculation that drugs were involved. The Zombies actress died at her California home on September 1, 2026, at just 33, leaving fans desperate for answers.

As rumours began swirling online, Jeffery's family issued a blunt denial: "She did not do drugs." A family representative also said there was no indication of foul play and that police were not investigating the death. The official cause and manner of death remain pending while the family awaits the results of an autopsy. 

Adding to the heartbreak, Carla's twin brother, actor Carlon Jeffery, shared the final text message he sent his sister before her death. "Hey sis, call me back when you get this," he wrote, explaining that he simply wanted to hear how her day had gone. He told Carla that he loved her "to the moon and back" and praised the resilience, grace and radiant smile that made her so special.

Carlon also urged his sister never to allow anyone-including herself-to dim her light. His closing promise now carries a devastating weight: "I got your back in this life and the next." The message has left fans wondering whether Carla ever had the opportunity to respond. 

Jeffery began acting at only 12 and went on to appear in Curb Your Enthusiasm, iCarly, Good Luck Charlie, Shake It Up, Scream Queens and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. She became best known as cheerful cheerleader Bree in Disney's three Zombies movies and later voiced the character in Zombies: The Re-Animated Series.

Her longtime management company remembered her as a vibrant, exceptionally talented woman whose smile could illuminate a room. Co-stars including Milo Manheim and Chandler Kinney have also shared emotional tributes celebrating her warmth and infectious positivity. For now, however, the question hanging over Carla's shocking death remains unanswered-and her family is pleading for patience instead of cruel speculation while the autopsy process continues.
