Adult Star Lily Phillips Says God Put Her In Porn—But Her Baptism Has Not Ended Her Controversial Career

Adult content creator Lily Phillips has made a startling claim about her spiritual journey, telling Holly Willoughby that she believes God may have deliberately placed her in the porn industry.

"God put me into the adult industry for a reason," the 25-year-old declared during an appearance on Willoughby's YouTube lifestyle series, Together. The provocative statement comes after Phillips revealed that she had returned to Christianity and was baptized following years away from the church.

Phillips said she was raised in a "fairly" religious family and occasionally attended church as a child. However, she stopped going when she was approximately 13 or 14 and began making her own choices about how she spent her time. Her attitude reportedly changed last year when she experienced a moment of conviction about how she was living.

"I kind of had like a bit of a moment where I was like, I was being so ungrateful," she recalled.

Phillips told Willoughby that faith has given her something fame and money could not: a renewed appreciation for everyday life. She said Christianity has encouraged her to remain present, thank God for "the little things" and seek divine guidance when she needs someone to talk to.

Yet her spiritual testimony comes with one enormous complication: Phillips has not renounced the adult industry that made her notorious. She previously suggested that explicit work might eventually "take a back seat," but she has continued producing adult content and reportedly does not believe Christianity requires her to abandon her career.

That contradiction has ignited criticism from some Christians who question how Phillips can interpret her baptism as compatible with an industry built around pornography. Others argue that her unconventional testimony should not be dismissed entirely, maintaining that the church ought to leave room for people whose spiritual transformation remains complicated or incomplete.

Phillips has also described her beliefs as highly personal, reportedly calling them a "bespoke religion" and suggesting that traditional Christian attitudes toward sex and sexuality may no longer reflect what she believes God wants. Those remarks have only intensified the debate over whether she has embraced historic Christianity or created a faith that validates choices she was already making.

The controversy has spilled over onto Willoughby as well. Some viewers criticized the former This Morning presenter for featuring Phillips on her new program and accused her of helping normalize the creator's extreme adult stunts. Phillips became internationally infamous after filming herself having sex with 101 men in one day and later claiming to have slept with more than 1,000 men during another event.

Despite the furor, Phillips insists that her return to faith is genuine. Her baptism and public comments appear to represent an attempt to reconcile two identities that many observers consider irreconcilable: committed Christian and unapologetic adult performer.

Whether her career eventually takes that promised "back seat" remains uncertain. For now, Phillips is not announcing a dramatic departure from pornography.
