Fake Deathbed Photos, A Phony “Final Wish” And Dolly In Heaven: AI Exploits Parton’s Death

Dolly Parton's family is grieving-but artificial intelligence creators are already turning the country legend's death into a disturbing online spectacle.

Since Parton died at 80 on August 25, social media has reportedly been flooded with fabricated pictures, invented recordings and sentimental fantasy scenes designed to attract clicks. Her younger sister Stella Parton has now condemned what she calls the "tremendous amount of AI and endless garbage" appearing every day.

Here are several of the most striking examples:

1. A Fabricated Recording Of Dolly's "Final Wish"

Videos have circulated featuring a purported recording of Parton revealing her final wish. Fact-checkers determined that the voice was not an authentic deathbed message. Versions of the phony audio had appeared even before her death and were quickly recycled afterward as though Dolly had left fans one last personal declaration. 

2. Dolly Being Welcomed Into Heaven By Kenny Rogers

Highly sentimental AI images depict Parton arriving in heaven and being greeted by deceased stars, including her longtime friend and duet partner Kenny Rogers. Although some fans may regard the pictures as affectionate tributes, there is no mistaking them for genuine photographs-and they have appeared while Dolly's actual family is still mourning. 

3. A Supposed Photograph Of Dolly Without Makeup

Another widely shared image claims to reveal an unguarded, makeup-free Dolly. The photograph is reportedly AI-generated, making it another example of creators manufacturing supposedly "private" glimpses of a celebrity who can no longer challenge the deception herself.

4. Reba McEntire At Dolly's "Deathbed"

One bizarre fake image showed Dolly lying gravely ill in a hospital bed while Reba McEntire held her hand. The picture actually began circulating during Dolly's health difficulties in 2025-while she was still alive. Dolly publicly mocked it, while Reba denounced the AI "mess" and reassured fans that the dramatic scene had never happened. 

5. Reba McEntire Holding A Sonogram

As if the invented deathbed scene were not ridiculous enough, another AI image portrayed the then-70-year-old McEntire displaying a sonogram. Reba joked that AI had Dolly dying while simultaneously giving her a baby. The absurd pictures demonstrated how quickly completely unrelated fabrications can become attached to genuine concerns about a star's health.

6. Invented Details About Dolly's Cancer

Parton's family confirmed only that she died following a brief battle with cancer. Nevertheless, social-media posts have circulated offering supposed inside information about the specific cancer she had, her treatment and her final days. Unless those details come from the family or Dolly's official representatives, they should not be treated as fact.

Stella warned that her family has been forced to endure extraordinary pressure and insensitivity from strangers during its bereavement. She urged people to honour Dolly through kindness rather than "fake AI garbage" and attention-seeking posts. 

Dolly once joked that she did not want an AI hologram preserving her soul on earth after her death. Now that warning feels chillingly prophetic. The Queen of Country carefully controlled her public image for decades-but online creators are attempting to manufacture new Dolly "moments" that never happened.
