Pastor's Family Says They Were Threatened by LGBTQ Activists, Asking for Prayers: Why Are They Relocating?

The family of an Australian pastor is asking for prayer and urgent help to relocate after their home address was leaked online and four individuals they identify as LGBTQ activists showed up at their property making death threats.

Pastor Andrew Sedra of Echo Church in southwest Sydney says the group, two of them hooded, arrived at his family's home on the night of Sept. 3 after their address was published publicly. According to the family, the individuals cut power to the house, attempted to force their way inside, and shouted threats - including one caught on security footage reviewed by The Daily Declaration: "I know where you live and I'll be at your doorstep every night."

The family says the group knew multiple relatives by name, including the couple's five-week-old baby, who was mentioned repeatedly during the confrontation.

Police have been in contact with the family, but according to the Sedras' account, officers explained they could only take "reactive, not preventative" measures - leading the family to conclude that relocating is now the safest option. The Sedras say they've endured ongoing threats for more than a year tied to their outspoken Christian ministry, but had never personally asked for financial help until now. They recently launched a GiveSendGo campaign to cover the cost of an urgent move.

Despite the incident, the family says their resolve hasn't wavered, vowing to "continue to preach the truth of the Bible with courage and boldness" as they ask supporters to keep them in prayer.
