Drake has reportedly not submitted any of his three 2026 albums for the 2027 Grammys, according to a Billboard report on Oct. 5.

Sources told Billboard the rapper did not submit Iceman, Habibti or Maid of Honour, or any of their songs, for consideration. The albums were released May 15 and made Drake the first artist to hold the top three spots on the Billboard 200 at the same time. All three were eligible, but the submission deadline passed on Aug. 21.

Fans may not be surprised. On the Iceman closer "Make Them Know," Drake raps, "This album, I'm never submittin' it." He last attended the ceremony in 2019, when he won Best Rap Song for "God's Plan," and he withdrew his Certified Lover Boy nominations before the 2022 show.

Drake has not publicly explained this latest decision, according to reports. Some outlets point to his long-running distance from the awards and to Kendrick Lamar's "Not Like Us" winning five Grammys in 2025, but none of that has been confirmed.

He is not the only major name sitting out. BTS and Stray Kids have also skipped submissions, which reports link to the Academy's new Best Asian Pop Music Performance category. No similar reason has been given for Drake.

The 2027 Grammys are set for February. For many music fans, the story raises an old question: whether a song's worth is measured by trophies or by the lives it touches.
