Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Late-Night Prison Emergency Raises Questions As His Team Responds

Sean "Diddy" Combs reportedly required emergency medical treatment after suffering a head injury inside federal prison, prompting an ambulance transfer early Saturday, October 10. The incident became public on October 12, with reports raising questions about how the music mogul was injured while serving his sentence at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey.

PEOPLE reported that a source familiar with the situation confirmed Combs was taken to a hospital. His injury was described as non-life-threatening, and he subsequently returned to the prison. The circumstances surrounding the injury have not been established publicly.

According to FOX 5 Atlanta's account of TMZ's reporting, an ambulance left Fort Dix at approximately 1 a.m. Saturday. Combs reportedly returned before sunrise and was conscious and speaking, although that account does not establish his current medical condition or disclose what treatment he received.

Combs' representatives acknowledged the reports but stopped short of confirming the details. "Sean's health and well-being are our immediate concern," his spokesperson said, adding that the team was working to establish the circumstances and appreciated those who had reached out.

Prison officials offered no further explanation. In a statement to Us Weekly, Fort Dix cited privacy, safety, and security considerations in declining to discuss an individual inmate's medical status or conditions of confinement. That leaves the cause and precise extent of Combs' injury unresolved.

The medical scare comes during Combs' 50-month federal sentence following his conviction on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted of the more serious sex-trafficking and racketeering charges at his 2025 trial.

PEOPLE currently lists his projected release date as March 2, 2028, following a change from January 2028. For now, reports indicate that he has returned to custody, while his representatives continue seeking clarity about the incident.
