Hillsong Worship's Let There Be Light reaches its 10th anniversary on October 14, 2026, marking a decade since the release of the live worship collection that introduced "What A Beautiful Name." Released October 14, 2016, the album brought together songs of praise, prayer and hope recorded at Hillsong Conference in Sydney, Australia.
"What A Beautiful Name" became the album's Grammy-winning centerpiece. Written by Ben Fielding and Brooke Ligertwood, the song earned Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards on January 28, 2018. Fielding and Ligertwood accepted the award at Madison Square Garden in New York City, placing a song created for congregational worship on one of the music industry's most prominent stages.
The anniversary also invites listeners to revisit the collection surrounding that celebrated song. The original 12-track album opens with "Behold (Then Sings My Soul)" and includes "Love So Great," "Look To The Son," "Crowns" and "Your Word." Its second half brings together the title track, "In Control," "Grace To Grace," "Elohim," "I Will Boast In Christ" and "As It Is (In Heaven)," revealing the breadth of the project beyond its best-known recording.
The album's original announcement presented its title as a prayer for the Church to carry the light of the Gospel into the world. Its stated purpose was to equip individual listeners, worship teams and congregations with songs that expressed hope in Jesus Christ-a vision that connected the recording to the practical work of local church worship.
That congregational purpose shaped the release's presentation. Alongside the CD and DVD, the original campaign included a special edition with a virtual reality experience, a Hillsong Channel television special and practical master classes. These resources extended the project beyond listening, giving worship teams opportunities to engage with its music and live presentation.
A decade later, the recording remains available through the listening links on Hillsong Worship's official album page. The page also lists acoustic versions of "What A Beautiful Name," "In Control," "I Will Boast In Christ" and "Elohim," offering another way to revisit songs first presented within the atmosphere of a live conference gathering.
For an anniversary listen, Let There Be Light offers more than the opportunity to return to a Grammy-winning song. Heard as a complete collection, it preserves the musical setting in which "What A Beautiful Name" first appeared, alongside the prayers and declarations that gave the album its identity.
