Blondie Return With ‘High Noon’—And Their First Album In Nearly A Decade Carries An Emotional Surprise

Blondie are back, and they are bringing some formidable company. The legendary band has announced High Noon, its long-awaited 12th studio album, arriving February 26, 2027, through BMG. With a new single already available and collaborators spanning punk, alternative rock and indie pop, Debbie Harry and Chris Stein are giving fans their first studio album since 2017's Pollinator.

Leading the charge is "Spectral Eyes," a new track written by former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr, who also plays on the recording. Released October 15, the single offers the first taste of a project that reunites Blondie with familiar collaborators while opening the door to fresh combinations. Fans can listen to "Spectral Eyes" through the official streaming links.

Behind the excitement lies a poignant piece of Blondie history: High Noon features the final recordings of drummer Clem Burke, who died in 2025 at age 70. Sessions began in 2022, and the album was completed before his death, preserving his playing on one more collection of new Blondie songs.

The guest list gives listeners plenty more to anticipate. Alongside Marr, the album features contributions from Sex Pistols bassist Glen Matlock, Beirut's Zach Condon, and Lucius vocalists Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig. Across 13 tracks, Blondie draw on rock and roll, punk, dance music and Latin rhythms-the kind of stylistic freedom that has long made the band difficult to pin down.

Harry describes the record as a meeting of Blondie's many influences, shaped by the people the musicians are today. That puts the emphasis firmly on new music: after years of anticipation, the band is offering another chapter in its recording career, with songs that connect its musical history to its present interests.

Producer John Congleton returns after working on Pollinator, with David Wrench providing additional production and mixing. The pairing brings continuity to the project while supporting an album whose collaborators reach across several generations of music.

The track listing supplies its own intriguing clues. Alongside "Spectral Eyes" are titles including "Heartbreak Kid," "Man Who Had No Face," "Little Metal Drummer," "Sleepwalking" and the eyebrow-raising "Bad Underwear." The collection closes with "Ah, Sunflower, Weary of Time," giving fans 13 new recordings to explore when release day arrives.

Collectors can also get in early. Preorders are open, with exclusive red vinyl and cassette editions available through the official stores, alongside merchandise bundles. Visit Blondie's official website for album details, streaming links and purchasing options.
