Christina Applegate Says She Doesn’t Have MS After Five Years: What Do Her Doctors Know Now?

Christina Applegate says she does not have multiple sclerosis, five years after she went public with an MS diagnosis.

The 54-year-old actress shared the news on Oct. 20 as she returned to her MeSsy podcast after a seven-month absence, tearfully telling co-host Jamie-Lynn Sigler about the update. She recalled that her doctor told her, "Congratulations, you don't have MS."

Does Christina Applegate have MS? According to her, no. But the news did not bring relief. She said her symptoms remain and the cause is now a mystery. She described feeling "back at square one."

What happens next? Applegate said she and her doctors are working to establish what has been happening since her original diagnosis. No new diagnosis has been announced.

She also said she feels she let people down after becoming a prominent voice for the MS community. Applegate retired from acting after the finale of Dead to Me and became an advocate for others living with MS. She launched MeSsy with Sigler in March 2024. The two announced a temporary break from the show on March 31, 2026.

JubileeCast previously reported on April 17 that Applegate had been hospitalized in Los Angeles, with her representative acknowledging the situation without sharing medical details.

As this story continues, many readers of faith may take a moment to pray for Applegate and for everyone living with chronic pain and unanswered medical questions.
