Presence Music has partnered with Avenue Music and Christian artist Joel Vaughn to bring a deeply personal Christmas song to Christian radio ahead of the holiday season. Titled "The Darkness Didn't Know," the new single is being promoted nationally through 55 Promotion ahead of its November 6, 2026, digital release.
Led by Josh Lauritch of 55 Promotion, the radio campaign aims to introduce the collaboration to Christian stations as they prepare their seasonal programming. The early rollout also builds on Presence Music's growing presence in Christian radio, following airplay for a previous Christmas release on SiriusXM and more than 100 station adds for its collaboration with KJ-52, "Down in the River."
The song carries a personal story of grief and faith. Written just three days after Presence Music vocalist Leah Monson lost her brother, "The Darkness Didn't Know" reflects on holding firmly to God's unchanging character through life's most difficult seasons.
Tracing the story of Jesus from His birth in Bethlehem to His sacrifice on the cross and resurrection, the song presents Christmas as part of the greater story of redemption. Its message offers encouragement to listeners facing loss, sorrow, and uncertainty, pointing to the enduring hope found in Christ.
Produced by Joel Vaughn and mixed by Doug Weier, the single combines contemporary Christian pop with heartfelt storytelling. Its central message is that darkness could not overcome or comprehend the redemptive work God was accomplishing through Christ.
The radio campaign will continue into December as Presence Music joins Mark Schultz and Britt Nicole for a nationwide Christmas tour running from December 3 through 20. The tour will give audiences additional opportunities to hear the new song during the holiday season.
Led by husband-and-wife duo Brandon and Leah Monson, Presence Music has continued to expand its ministry through touring, radio, and collaborations with artists including Stephen Christian of Anberlin, Jason Lancaster of Mayday Parade, and Dove Award winner KJ-52. The group also dedicated 100 days to music, touring, and ministry in 2026 and received a Next Big Thing nomination at the We Love Christian Music Awards.
"The Darkness Didn't Know" will be available on major streaming platforms beginning November 6, 2026. Listeners can pre-save the single ahead of its release and learn more about the group through the official Presence Music website.
